Lovely small cottage with a beautiful castle ruin in the backyard. We saw sea otters, hedgehogs, ravens, donkeys, goats, horses, ponies, and friendly dogs. The wood burning stove was awesome and made the place super cozy. Wifi was great for remote working, cottage was well stocked, and the SuperValu had tons of variety at great prices. Great place to stay - the owners were so welcoming and open but gave us our privacy as well. Highly recommend & would stay again :)

Loved everything but disappointed that the cafe was temporarily closed.

Shannon Castle Holiday Homes are beautiful, charming cottages with all modern amenities. Ideal for a family gateaway or for a business trip in Co. Limerick. Sitting room has a comfy sofa, smart TV connected with internet and a fire place. Internet speed is excellent and you can watch netflix / youtube etc. Kitchen is well equipped with fridge, microwave, cooker, oven etc. Central heating works very well and hot water available in basins and for shower 24 hours. Upstairs the bedroom has a nice comfy double bed and a single bed for child. Views from the cottage are amazing and the location of the accommodation is nice countryside where you can enjoy nature. Easy to get in and out of Askeaton which is the nearest town. It is also convenient to go to County Limerick, County Clare & County Kerry from this place. Owner Paul is a gentleman and will come and show you all the utilities etc. The accommodation block also has a common area with washing machine and dryer if you need to clean your clothes and is easily accessible all day. Overall, a great place for a weeks holiday when visiting Ireland.

Nice house in a central location

The location and the view are great. You live pretty centrally in Ireland. (Car essential) Quick access to Limerick. Landlord always available and nearby.

Heating has to be paid for separately - gas heating can be expensive when it storms. But the landlord pointed this out to us straight away.

A view of a castle out your back door, definitely can't beat!!! Paul and Anne were lovely host. Views of the Shannon, goats, dogs ,donkeys and much more!!! Such an amazing stay!! I would definitely recommend!!

We also liked the quiet environment and the daily visits from the landlord's friendly dogs 😊 We would book it again and again!

For us as self-caterers, the kitchen could have been a little better equipped (scissors, casserole dish, etc.)

This was a really fun and unique place to stay. Feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere but groceries, cafes and restaurants just 10-15 minutes away. Paul, the proprietor, was delightful and took us around the property to have a look at the grounds and castle. They’re getting underway after just finishing building so a few nits to work out but really great couple nights there.

We spent eight memorable and very enjoyable days in a Beagh Castle Holiday Cottage. We know of no other holiday home where you can have breakfast in a garden with its own castle ruin, enjoy a stunning view on the river, and watch dolphins at the same time. Anne and Paul are wonderful hosts who are eager to make sure that their guests lack for nothing. We will definitely come again some day!

The hosts were lovely. They were knowledgeable about the area and introduced me to a fantastic tour guide for the nearby Franciscan Friary. The castle was historic, the fellow clientele of the restaurant were charismatic, the landscape and nearby walks and villages were superlative experiences. I enjoyed local produce which I was able to cook in the well appointed kitchen of my cottage

When I was there, the last cottages were in progress, for me I like seeing things being developed, a bit of a restorations guy myself, but some may not like it. The proprietors will be finished soon and it’s a brilliant project!
